Often referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy, microneedling is a technique that creates micro injuries into the skin’s surface, causing an increase in collagen production.
This is a non-invasive treatment that involves using a device to create tiny holes in the skin’s surface, which is followed by the application of a topical product directly onto the surface for a deeper level of absorption and penetration into the skin. Microneedling is used to improve skin tone and texture, treating the appearance of scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and pigmentation marks.

Microneedling with Hyaluronic Acid:
When microneedling is paired with hyaluronic acid, a powerful moisture binding ingredient, it provides the benefit of adding plumpness and hydration into the skin and preventing visible signs of aging.
Microneedling is suitable for all skin types and colors. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in your body that binds to and absorbs water and gives a fullness and plumpness to the skin. Since your body makes less of hyaluronic acid as you get older, adding this topical to your microneedling treatment increases hydration to absorb into the skin, and increases the skin’s ability to utilize these nutrients, leading to plump, smooth, and youthful skin results.
Microneedling has proven to be an effective procedure on its own, but studies show that the results can be optimized when paired with serums such as hyaluronic acid.
The microneedling process opens the skin and allows it to better absorb products into a deeper level of the skin. Hyaluronic acid, when absorbed into the skin after microneedling, can aid in adding volume by nourishing the skin. When paired with micro-needling, the repair process begins almost immediately resulting in softened wrinkles and scars, as well as a thicker dermis.
Microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma:
When Microneedling is paired with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a concentrated mixture of platelets from your own blood, it offers the benefit of delivering proteins, including growth factors and cytokines, into the skin that supports cell growth and healing.
Platelet-rich plasma injections are injections of one’s own platelet-rich plasma. We will draw your blood in the office and spin it down in a centrifuge to prepare the PRP. We can then use this PRP during microneedling to deliver healing properties to the skin’s surface. PRP can also be injected into the skin to target specific areas of scarring or skin laxity for collagen stimulation. Utilizing PRP is a natural way to deliver growth factors to help rejuvenate skin and reinvigorate cell turnover using your own blood products. Platelets have the unique ability to heal chronic injuries and contain proteins that facilitate tissue repair and wound healing due to the inflammatory responses to healing.
When paired with microneedling, inflammation is reduced, helping to repair deep acne scars, uneven skin tone, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines.
What Results Can I Expect from Microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma at Jersey Shore Aesthetics and Wellness?
Microneedling has proven to be an effective procedure on its own. Yet studies show that the results can be optimized when paired with special products and serums such as platelet-rich plasma.
Platelet-rich plasma contains highly concentrated amounts of natural growth factors and other cytokines that promote the regeneration process of soft tissues. Patients will usually continue to see improvements in their skin as their body’s natural repair process creates more collagen. Most patients see noticeable results after 4-8 weeks. For best results, a series of three treatments spaced a month apart is recommended. After initial treatment a maintenance session every six months will help sustain gained results and keep your skin glowing!
